I'm an associate professor in the School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University. My research mainly focuses on international conflict and state repression. I'm mostly interested in the intersection of international conflict and domestic politics. I've published research on territorial conflict participation and state repression, on the linkage between international territorial competition and defensive alliance effectiveness, and the factors that contribute to the durability of peacekeeping operations. I teach graduate and undergraduate courses on international relations and international conflict. This website contains summaries and links to published work as well as links to replication files and teaching materials.
